Huntington Bancshares Incorporated is a publicly traded bank holding company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Founded in January 1866 as P.W. Huntington & Company, the company later incorporated as The Huntington National Bank and reorganized into a holding company in the 1960s.

Today Huntington operates through its banking subsidiary,The Huntington National Bank, and serves customers across multiple states including Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Kentucky and North Carolina.

Huntington is ranked on the Fortune 500 list and is recognized among the largest U.S. banks, and is the largest originator of SBA 7(a) loans.

Over the years the company has grown through numerous acquisitions, expanding regionally via acquisitions such as Sky Financial Group in 2007, First Merit Corporation in 2016, and TCF Financial Corporation in 2021, which extended its presence into new markets like Minnesota and Colorado.
