The New Castle Polar Plunge is the coolest event in the Three Rivers Region! On March 12, 2026, come chill at Washington Center to experience the magic of Plunge and support Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes at the same time! Every dollar raised helps support vital programming for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring quality training, competition, leadership training, and health initiatives for our Special Olympics athletes in and around New Castle!
Plungers commit to "Freezin' for a Reason" and raise a minimum of $75 to dip a toe, wade, or jump into the icy waters of the Special Olympics Mobile Plunge pool.
Not quite ready to "take the plunge?" Spectators can cheer on individuals or teams from the viewing areas. Be sure to take a stroll through Plunge Town where you will find food, games, vendors, music, and more!
