The Construction Advancement Program of Western Pennsylvania (CAP) and the Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania (MBA), operating together as The Builders Guild of Western Pennsylvania, serve as a vital hub for the region’s commercial construction industry. Through a shared mission of workforce development, labor relations, safety advancement, and industry promotion, they provide support and advocacy for union construction companies and their skilled workforce.
As a collaborative resource, The Builders Guild connects contractors, suppliers, educators, labor unions, and government agencies to promote high standards in construction practices and foster economic growth throughout the region. With programs focused on apprenticeships, career pathways, and industry awareness, they ensure a steady pipeline of qualified talent ready to meet the challenges of today’s complex building projects.
The Builders Guild is also committed to community engagement and education, helping to shape public perception of the union construction trades while supporting key workforce development initiatives. Whether it’s helping contractors stay compliant and competitive or preparing the next generation of tradespeople, the organization plays an essential role in strengthening the Western PA construction economy.
