About Us

The Duquesne University Small Business Development Center provides no-cost, confidential consulting and training to entrepreneurs and small business owners across southwestern Pennsylvania. As part of the national SBA SBDC network, the center is dedicated to helping individuals start, grow, and strengthen their businesses through expert guidance and educational resources. Services include support with business planning, funding strategies, marketing, succession planning, and digital tools. The center also offers specialized consulting in areas such as technology commercialization, international trade, and SBIR/STTR grants. Through strong university partnerships, clients may access pro bono resources in legal, human resources, IT, and accounting. The center offers regular workshops and webinars, including popular series like First Step: Business Essentials and training on social media, business growth, and operational success. Annual events such as business conferences and expos bring together professionals for education, networking, and collaboration. With a mission to empower entrepreneurs and foster economic development, the Duquesne SBDC has helped secure millions in business funding, delivered thousands of consulting hours, and supported the launch and growth of countless ventures.
