About Us

Arts & Education at the Hoyt is the cornerstone of arts & culture in Lawrence County, enriching the region through life-long learning and year-round opportunities to experience the arts.

Located within New Castle’s North Hill Historic District, their two beautiful 1917 mansions house a full menu of art exhibitions, classes, events, school and after school programs that inspire creativity and curiosity. Visitors of all ages can explore rotating exhibits, take part in art classes, tour the period house and attend gallery talks, concerts, and festivals.

Consistent with its mission “to expand and enrich the life of the community”, the Hoyt makes the arts accessible to everyone through educational outreach, class scholarships, and free daily admission. EBT cardholders receive added benefits through the Hoyt’s participation Museums for All, a national initiative to remove barriers to participation.

Whether you're looking to explore your creative side - with courses in drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, stained glass or music - or to immerse yourself in American culture of the past or present, Arts & Education at the Hoyt invites you to be part of its vibrant and welcoming community.
