About Us

New Castle Union Station Craft Distillery was born from a simple conversation between David Goldberg, a retired professor, and Rod Firmi, president of Olde Recipe Foods, over pizza and rum in 2020. Inspired by their shared passion for crafting spirits, they transformed New Castle’s former train station into a vibrant distillery. After years of planning and renovations, the distillery now produces Bourbon, Rye, Vodka, Gin, and both White and Dark Rum using a 400-gallon custom still to craft each spirit from scratch.

Firmi and Goldberg aim to create a welcoming space for the community, offering tastings, cocktails, and tours. With their locally crafted products already featured in area bars, the duo envisions their distillery as a catalyst for positive change in New Castle, hoping to inspire further business growth in the area.
