The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry—the Statewide Voice of Business™—was founded on December 16, 1916, by more than 100 business leaders who recognized the need for a unified voice in Harrisburg. Its mission is to advocate for job creation and drive economic prosperity across Pennsylvania.
Headquartered in Harrisburg, with staff in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley, and Hazleton, the PA Chamber is the state’s largest broad-based business association. It represents over 12,000 businesses of all sizes and industries, accounting for nearly half of Pennsylvania’s private workforce.
Advocacy is at the core of its work. Through experienced lobbyists, a political action committee, issue-based work groups, and a grassroots network, the PA Chamber serves as a leading voice for business growth at the state Capitol.
Beyond advocacy, the organization provides educational resources to help members navigate state and federal regulations, including conferences and guidebooks on key business topics. Its subsidiary, Pennsylvania Chamber Insurance, Inc., has delivered quality, affordable employee benefits to businesses statewide for more than 30 years.
The PA Chamber has been recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as Accredited with Distinction—an honor held by only a few state chambers—highlighting excellence in operations, policy leadership, and advocacy.
The Pennsylvania Chamber is nonpartisan and not affiliated with any government entity.
