About Us

Known as a ''one-stop center for social services,'' the organization provides accessible mental health counseling, food pantry assistance, and utility aid to community members in need.

People in Need has four sites. The main office in New Castle houses our Mental Health Services, Women in Need Program, and the Food Pantry. The New Castle office provides the services of counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists.

New Castle, Ellwood City, Sharon, and Hermitage offices offer the Women in Need Program (For location information, see our CONTACT US page.) This program provides free diapers, counseling and assistance to expectant mothers and their baby plus children under 1 year of age.

People in Need offers to qualified individuals the Columbia Gas CAP Program and the Dollar Energy Program. People in Need also provides a food bank for individuals meeting the guidelines. This program is offered at the New Castle office for Lawrence County residents only.
