About Us

Sparked by the entrepreneurial spirit in early 1980, Karl B. Schroedel II and Richard S. Scullin made a career choice to start their own accounting practice. By the end of that year, the partners brought in another young accountant—Gregory C. Bestic—and the foundation for Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic, LLC, certified public accountants and strategic advisors, was in place. The firm’s commitment to excellence has sustained them for over four decades.

SSB’s success has come through our commitment to our clients. It has always been our goal to look beyond the numbers and function as a sounding board for our clients. We have survived the economic upturns and downturns alongside our clients because of sound business principles and conservative business practices. In effect, we practice what we preach. Through the hard work of the SSB team members, we have realized positive results for our clients and, through their subsequent referrals, we have continued to grow.

By 1990, the firm had grown to more than 20 employees and ground was broken for its current home at 196 N. Broad Street in Canfield, chosen for its central location to our clients in Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. This growth has provided opportunities for career advancement for SSB team members. Additional clients require additional partner resources and SSB has been fortunate to develop seven additional partners.

Through the many changes over the past 40+ years, what has remained constant since day one is that SSB has been dedicated to the “one-firm” concept as opposed to separate practices.
